I owe you TUNS of stories - and im sorry

Hey friends

I owe you TUNS of stories...
like-
* candy sushi - which is brilliant
* I got the NIKON D-90!!! my dad bought me it...
* number 42 is in process (this post will talk about it a bit more)
* how the play is going on (also this blog)
* school - actually no story there- am putting off way to much thing because of the musical (like seminar...) but in two weeks ill go back to be a geeky organized med-student.
well there are other stuff that are not new like my ankle (one step forward, two steps backwards), school as i said, and well most of my life out-side the musical :)

well Ill try to update as much as I can now...
keep in mind I still want to tell you guys about Prague (which was like 2 months ago... wish Amir and I could be there now...), and about learning how to do my own french manicure... and I will... but now today:)

so lets start:
CANDY SUSHI!
So, It's Amir and Mine 1st anniversary, and we decided to surprise each other every day for a week. It was great. I have to say they surprising Amir was even more fun that being surprised but thats a different story.
ANYWAYS - candy sushi came out as a great idea.
I know, I know - its not on the list but I'm feeling like writing about these stuff too so bear with me.
So you can see the results. Its great - and if your around - we have PLENTY left.
So the ingredients:
* Instead of seaweed i had fruit-by-the-Foot or fruit-role-up
* Instead of rice i took white marshmallow - i flattened in on the fruit role up
* and for all the fun inside things I used gummy-bears and other candy things (actually I don't know the actual names of the other candy)
After pilling all of the yummy things i rolled it all up so there would be and extra layer of the fruit roll-up around the whole thing.
If its a fruit roll-up cut it to the size you want...
And... Enjoy!!
My new baby!!!
I'd like to introduce you guys to Niki - my new camera.
Stuff you might not know about it
- When I was 12, I went to Italy with my family as a present to my bat-mitzva. Durring the trip, my dad tought me the beginning of what I know about photography and i fell in love with it.
- when I was 16, during summer vacation between 10th and 11th grade I worked as a youth counselor at a summer camp. with the money I earned I bought my first SLR camera (My dear old Mini).
Though Mini is great, and there is nothing like the excitement waiting to develop the pictures or the resolution of a SLR film camera, it became so pricey. In addition to that I got a few years ago a small "saboon box" (what I call small camera), so I found myself using mini less and less.

I'm gonna be honest - I had my eyes on Nikon d90 for years now...
My dad once told me he's buy me it when Ill get into med school - so he did. A month ago. Better late than never? :)
So we're now together for the last month. I don't have a lot of time to use her, but what I do it's great.
I promise to put some pics from time to time :)

#42
Lord of the Rings - The fellowship of the Ring
I saw it lats week, Saturday night at home with Amir.
At first I didn't want to see the movie before I read the books. But I never succeeded in finishing the Hobbit. I guess that kind of books are just not my thing, and I truly regret that, but what can i do?
I really feel like I would have enjoyed the movie way more if I had read the book (and I don't think it would have ruin the book for me, on the contrary). Still the movie is amazing - I wont say anything new by saying that the scenery, the scenes and the story itself are breath-taking.
Highly recommended even for people (like myself) that aren't that big of a fans of this genre.
Besides how bad can a movie with tuns of horses can be?

Stuff I now understand from the movie:
1. Who the hell is golumb
2. my precious
3. why pointy ears are cool
4. alot of wind + black eyes + deep low voice = scary
Things I don't get - What's the rope for?
Ill probably learn that one till the end of this assignment:)

Well number 3 is still in process.
This upcoming week we have 1 clean-up rehersal, 3 dress rehersals and the opening show on thursday!!! OMG OMG!!!!
Well to make it short and to the point:
* I LUV the cast - I met great friends there, the director is amazing, and in general I learned so much from every one. (even a few ego stuff like how to deal with pre-Madonnas)
* If you don't know - I'm Levi (one of the brothers) and I have two dance solos (wish me luck! ) (I have a few line solos as well, but you know me, I always want more)
* The show is going to run throughout all Hannuka - 5 days at the total, 7 shows, all sold out !!!

I truly fell in love with this world, and already started to fantasize about the next show Ill be able to be in. Yesterday they had auditions for "Grease"... but I HAVE to start taking school more seriously so I didn't go. but after passover... or maybe next year.

The rest I cannot tell. If you want more details - you should have bought tickets!

So Ill see you next time.

I finished the list!

well... I finished MAKING the list, not doing it all.
To be honest I don't know if Ill finish it in 1001 but I sure will try to.
I guess it's the thought that counts.

It only took me all of my summer vacation - but I finished it :)
The last idea was suggested by a friend who doesn't even know about this blog! Ill tell you the story:
Amir and I like doing long walks (and sometimes we even go running). Every time, we choose a different direction or destination. The thing is, we live about 10 minutes away from "HaMoshava HaGermanit" - the German area where there are so many great restaurants and caf'e. So every time we walked through that area we got really hungry and were angry we didn't bring any money.
So once, I put in my pocked 50 NIS (a little less than 15 USD) so when we got to the "Moshava" we could sit down and eat - but what can you order for two people in 50 NIS? (two HUNGRY people).
So we went back and forth and decided to sit down in Burger's Bar where 150g Hamburger costs something like 24 NIS. So we ordered two of them, and took 2 glasses of tap water - and there we had it! a dinner for two under 50 NIS!

Ever since we done it once or twice again - and it became a joke - we should find more places and then we'll write a book!
Well I don't know about a book, but a friend of mine said we can open a great blog!

well thats the story...
I finished the list!!! yay!!!!

Tomorrow I'm starting the 3rd year of med school! yaiks! 3rd grade is BIG!
In addition - next week I'll start working (I got back my teaching job) AND the rehersals to the musical are starting.
Big week ahead of me.

wish me luck:

Noa.

45. Visit a new country - Serbia

Hey you guys.
As promissed I want to tell you about the trip to Serbia - a country I have never visited befor in my life, with JFE - Jerusalem Folklore Ensamble (Ive been dancing there for 3 years now).

Ofcourse- Amir and I returned from Prague (Cz republic) - which was also a totally new country for me, but that a totally different post!

So the ensamble went to Serbia to participate in a folklore festival in a city name Cremska Mitrovitsa (I hope I wrote it well) and in a trumpit festival in the town of Gucha. Both were so great!

The fesitval in Sremska was 5 day - we preformed every day (between 10-30 minuts show) - the croud was great, the group was awsome and we had great time.
Durring this festival we had a tour arround the area of the town (durring wich we drank ALOT of Rakia), we had a trip to Belgrad and had plenty of time to shop :)

The festival in Gucha wasnt like anything I ever saw! So many people, coming to such a small twon- litteraly in the midle of no-where, to party for 8 days. It was truely magnificent.

If you ever get to Serbia- here are some tips:
* A tour in Belgrad can take 1 day. There are several places I wouldnt miss -
-the tower
-the main streets (a great place to do a little shopping)
- The old Bohemian area (lots of resturants, cafe', and places to go out at night like clubs and pubs)
- the old chapel that looks like the Taj-Mahal
Of course there are many other places I haven't seen - but from what I saw - these are the musts. In addition some of my friend said they went to a really big shopping mall there - the prices aren't so high in Serbia so its a good place to do some serious shopping.
* Around belgrad - I really loved the area of Guch - Its almost 4 hourse from belgrad but the place is sooooo beutiful! I highly recomend to rent a car and travel arround - the hills are as green as can be, small rivers, and great people :)
* The local are super nice - and the can be helpfull if you get lost - so dont be afraid to ask them:)

Here are some pics from Serbia:

Long time no see

Ive been away for a while- actually for a month since i came back from Serbia.
I have several reasons - When i came back I came back and started studying to two make-over tests I had to do.
2 days befor the final one my computer stopped working. It was awfull - I cannot put it in words how stressfull that was.
But all is well, I passed both of the exams - so Ill start in a couple of weeks the third year in med school (it sound so big!).
Also mean Im getting my O in Doctor :)

Alot of things are new- I have a new nephew and Amir and I are living together for quit a while and life is good (vecation is good).
Another vecation (this time with Amir) is ahead of us - so Ill post about it as well

Im getting ahead with the list pretty good-
Alot is now italic (alot more than a month ago):
* I auditioned for a musical and might participate in it! (joseph and the technicolor coat) its verry exciting
* most of my vecation is dedicated to orginise my house, my old room at my parent's home and my life. all is in process. all doing well
* I began teaching myself to do french manicure and Amir started to teach me how to play phool. Its way cool.
* I finished reading one book - yeah only one - ive hoped Ill do more but at the moment Im too busy reading to prepare for the trip and preparing for my new teaching job - all of wich takes too much of my reading time. It was Eric Segal's "Doctors" which was fun. reminded me why Im doing all these tests and disections :) Im now in the middle of two other books... hope ill finish them befor school starts over - then who knows when Ill have time to read...

well thats all for now,
promis Ill do normal posts to the things I've finished -
still have to finish the 101 list... 2 to go (last ones are the hardest becuase nothing is good enough...)
luv

Moving In

How's everything?

Well, if I thought it was hectic last week, this week is crazy.

I found out I failed in physiology, and the date for the re-take exam in 4 days after Ill come back from the festival in Serbia (flying next Sunday).

So this week I'm studying.

But the upper side of my busy busy schedule is that my dearest boy-friend, Amir, moved in.

The preparations started a few weeks ago by going to IKEA (you gotta luv that store):

That's us, finding out we have Amir's camera with us...
That's me, enough is enough

We bought lots of neat stuff. We couldn't wait and when we came home we started to unpack and build our new CD shelves. Though most of the stuff are still in the box and are waiting for us to to hand them.

Last Wednesday my roommate cleared out. we painted her room (which is now our bed room - my old bed room is now our study) during the weekend and on Sunday (well on Sunday night) the movers brought all Amir's things here.

We made a bet he'll have more than 10 boxes (that's what I said) - boy did I win...

The thing is, they finished moving everything so late, we were too tired to start organizing everything. So once they left, we cleaned the bedroom once again (we did it after my roommate left, after we painted... and again on Sunday),made up the bed, tried to clear out a couple of boxes from the living room (didn't make that much of a difference) and went to sleep.

Now, two days after - we have a semi-boxes-cleared living room, pretty messy study, VERRY messy kitchen and a half-empty bed room. But hopefully, well arrange everything in a short while.

In the mean while – it's nice to know Amir is coming home tonight to our home.

So here are some more pics from the process of making our own home.

In the mean time, take care

Luv, Noa.

Painting!

Amir's stuff piled in the van

what used to be my living room (OMG!) – and our new TV
what used to be my bedroom and is supposed to be our study…

First things first! Bedroom clean and organized… though not fully equipped yet

And… starting to organize everything – hanging pictures and putting our names on the mail-box

988 days to go

988 days to go, and i have'nt started doing anything yet.

The reason is, I'm supposed to be on vecation.
Why am I supposed to be and actualy am not?
1- I havent gotten back my grades so I dont know if I have to re-take some of my finals.
2- I postponed SO MANY THINGS that now i have to do ...

Anny way- big weekend ahead of me. Amir's moving in :-) joy!
Aside from the, my dance group is going to Serbia in a week and ahalf. so as you see I have lots of fun things planned - and some check-marks to do next to my unfinished list.

Hope all is well,
Still stuck on 77 2do's - so ideas will be great:)
