Happy I didn't put "to run a marathon" in my list!

I just wanted to thank my 25-year-old self about 8 months ago for NOT writing "participating in a marathon" in the 101.
Last weekend we woke up to that sounds of "yaaay" down from the streets. We went to our porch and saw that the Jerusalem-Marathon was passing through our street (lucky for me- that meant Amir can't go to work:) ). So we decided to go out for breakfast at a bakery near by and we took our Camera.
You have to understand - two days before that (On my birthday) a bomb exploded - killed 1 and injured over 30. The whole city was, and still is, in a state of a shock. No one wants to believe it's starting over - another period with terrorist attacks one after the other, endangering the safety of so many people. I hope it won't start again.
So that marathon pulled people out of their homes- weather to run or to cheer (or in our case- to go eat and take pictures). It was great, it was lifting AND we got some cool pictures to show-off :-)

me- from our porch, trying to get a closer look and some nice pic's
what we saw from our porch
our healthy breakfast
because some just had to pick up the calories all these running people dropped!
some happy runners with happy people cheering them
Now for the sad part - Gilad Shalit - I'm so... well happy isn't the word, maybe pleased? well- that so many chose to remind everyone Gilad Shalit isn't home yet.

I almost celebrated St. Patrick's day

Yes, almost.

Note to self - if you promise your-self to celebrate a foreign holiday - at-least check out when is it!

Thing is, the 17th is our monthly anniversary. This week, we decided to go up north to visit Amir's family so we planned stopping in Haifa (which, for none-Israeli readers - its a city way up north here) for dinner. When we got to the place Amir wanted to go to - we found out it closed, so (remembering someone on facebook said something about St. Patrick's) I suggested we'll go to a pub. And yes, it is St. Patrick's.
So I did drink bear on St. Patrick's day. Although - according to my 101 list - #95 says I need to wear green while doing it. My jacket was greenish (khaki green) - but really, I wasn't wearing green...
Oh well - I'll need to try to remember doing this next year!
We even thought it could be my birthday theme next year (since it is a few days away).

Now for an accomplished task I hade'nt written about yet - My new (well by now their not new anymore) glasses!

Me - wearing them for the first time in a cafe' in prague

Well, it was on our first day in Prague (which only now I realized I didn't write a thing about it!!! OMG! will be fixed in the next blog!). We wandered around the city and found a great store - it had these great ideas and designs - it was so colorful and inspiring. We loved that store so much we ended up returning to it two more time during our stay and buying about 50% of the gifts for our families there.

So, Amir was nagging me for some-time that I should change my old glasses (btw- by now he started nagging again). During that first time at the store- he found a bundle of really colorful glasses - with all sorts of colorful prints on them. I tried some on. Most of them were WAY to colorful - but these - which are black and have a gentle symmetric texture on them (black and see-through) were really nice and were exactly what we were looking for.
And they weren't pricey at all.

These glasses are ready made (1.5+) - and I still need to change the lenses to my new-ever-growing number. I find myself wearing them every-day and most of the day (while befor I barely wore my old glasses even while reading). Maybe because: 1. My doctor told me to drive with glasses so I put them on when I leave the house and they stay on all day. 2. It really is easier to study with them. and let's face it - I study every day - most of the day :/.

A funny thing happened about 3 months ago (yes- only 2 months after I got them). One of the guys in the play, during on of the dress rehearsals (of-course I didn't wear them on stage), looked at me for a while and then told me I look so different without the glasses - than I normally do. This was weird because I still think of my-self as someone who normally don't wear glasses. Oh well.

'Till next time. :-)

#2 - accomplished

So I have to start somewhere - so why not from the head of the list?

#2 - participating in a musical.

I can sure say I did it:)

I can't even begin saying how fun it was.
I really can't wait till I'll be able to do something like that again.
Too bad I didn't blog about it during the whole process. Though I was way buzzy during those days.

Well I should start from the beginning.
Someday during September I got a call - way to early in the morning - from a man with a heavy american accent (in Hebrew) : "hello, am I talking to Noa, the singer?" "sure..." "what are you doing tonight?" "ummm I'm not sure" "so come audition to the musical "Joseph" I'm directing" "sure!"
Well - the day before i sent some e-mails to some people that I'm interested to be invited for auditions - but I didn't expect them to call so soon.

So I went to the audition and sang "for good" from wicked, and was accepted as one of the 11 brothers. Later I was cast as Levi - which really had no further meaning to it (as brothers- most scenes and lines were done together as a group) accept for the 1st song when they introduced the brothers and i turned and yelled "Levi!" and another scream on the second act when they searched us for the stolen precious golden cup ("is it Levi?" "nooo").

In addition I participated as a dancer - it meant to be in the front row for most of the dances (which is always fun) and two solo parts - first in a jazz part during "the dreamer has to go" song, and the second as Joseph's conscious during "close every door" - which was a modern dance.

The whole process was great- our director - Micheal Berl is absolutely an amazing person full of knowledge and ideas. It was so fun learning from him about this whole amazing theatric world he created for us. It was fun - from the first steps when we just sat and learned the songs and the harmonies to the blocking and acting on stage.

The cast was so fun, inspiring, and willing to participate - it was great. Yes, I was one of the older members- but every body was great and I think I made some new friends.

Of course the shows were awesome as well. We had 5 days - 7 shows. The first show (Thursday) Amir, Hela and her mom came. they sat in the center of the 1st row. It was fun, though I had to work extra hard not to look at them only and not to smile at them all the time.

On the Monday shows (shows #2-#3) no one came for me - but at the early show we had some big groups of kids from different schools, including one group of kids with down syndrome. needless to say - that was the best audience ever! One girl ran to Jimmy (who played- Elvis-pharaoh) after the show - all shaking and yelling "you're ELVIS! OMG!" :-)

My family came to the Tuesday show. They sat in the 3rd or 4th row, in the middle - my dad and Rotem (my baby sis) kept making funny faces at me every time I looked. and I looked at the allot. The pictures below are from that show as well.

On Wednesday we also had 2 shows (#5 and #6) - #5 was also sesame street (as Michael calls it). To the #6 show came ALLOT of my friends - 6 from med school (Jude, Ofer, Olivia, Limor, Meni and Lital) and two way-back friends Inbal and Stav. I didn't manage to see where any of them were sitting during the whole show so i kept trying to look around. The only one I saw was Ofer and Olivia who sat right where I came out during the Pharaoh song (we came out from behind the crowd).
When they yelled "Pharaoh has entered the building" I grabbed Ofer's shoulder and screamed"Oh my goooooood". His face was hysterical :-)

The last show was hard. It was hard to believe it is over. It was also hard because the audience was less than polite- they barely clapped and laughed... But as Michael said - the last show is "a gift of memory" and we did that show for each other. And it really was like that.
I had a surprise - an old friend from the army - Tal, came to see that show with her fiancรฉe. I saw him sometime during the 1st act and I thought "hey that look's like Tal's...." and then i saw her. I swear I could have burst into tears. One more person I could dedicate a show to.

Yes. It feels like that. I didn't know it's like that but it is. Whenever someone came to see me I felt like I'm doing the whole show to make them smile and have fun. Each and every one of them. That feeling drove me to do my best during all those shows- to feel the most, to sing the best, to dance the hardest I can. It's amazing what that feeling could bring out from you.

So I really want to thank all that came, and those who couldn't (did I mention we sold out two weeks before the show?). I love you all.

"way way back" song.
"omg! he gave him a multicolored coat!" - the color-coat song
me, talking to dad(Jacob) "one more angel in heaven"
The Elvis scene - fu-hun:-)
the French scene - "Those Kienan Days"

Not Studying... not meeting deadlines...

Yesterday, I went to sleep at about 5 am. Just before the sunrize. I told Amir I can't study anymore and it's too bad because if we waited a bit more than an houre we would have been able to see the sun rise together for the first time. But we were both too tired.
I have to say that the all nighter was relatively productive, though I'm still behind on schedule. And yet all I seem to do is refresh my g-mail, wander around the facebook and stroll around blogs I like... While doing that I came across this picture:

Just put the "Blogs" instead of "twitter" and it's really where I'm at, at the moment.
HELP:)
The picture was created by "FUCHSIA MACAREE".
Back to work:)
